Players under the age of 18 - Important!

All players under the age of 18 need to have a waiver and medical release form filled out prior to playing. This form must be read and signed by a parent or guardian. The minimum age requirement is 14.

All waivers must be received BEFORE the start of Game 1. If a player is found playing without having turned in their waiver, their team may be asked to forfeit their game.

Friend Requests

You can signup with another friend to be on the same team. We will consider larger groups, depending on ability levels of the players.

Spirit & Conduct

Ultimate Frisbee stresses sportsmanship and fair play. Competitive play is encouraged, but never at the expense of respect between players, adherence to the rules, and the basic joy of play.

We will not tolerate:

- Offensive language

- Poor behavior and spirit of the game

- Smoking on the field

* It will be at the discretion of the Board to ask players to leave the league who conduct themselves poorly in any way (not exclusive to the list above).

Download official league rules.

Length of game

- Games should start as close to 6:00pm, as possible.

- Games will be played to 13, win by 2. (Subject to change depending on team sizes).

Halftime begins when one team gets to 7.  Halftime generally lasts about 5-10 minutes.

Overtime begins when the score reaches 12-12 (a team needs to win by 2, so now the game would be to 14. If it ties again at 13-13, then the game would be to 15).

Each team gets 1 timeout per half, plus one floater.

Time cap

If for some reason we need to put a time cap on a game:

- Take the higher of the two current scores and add 2 points.  Do this as soon as the time cap starts.  Do not wait until the “end” of the point.

- The first team to reach the “capped” score wins the game.  It is not required to win by 2.

- Timeouts can be used in the cap, but only one, or unless the team has already used all of its timeouts.

Players on the Field

Ultimate Frisbee is normally played with 7 players on the field per team, but we can also play 5s or 6s. Captains can decide how many players to play before the game begins.

This is a coed summer league. There are no requirements regarding how many women or men are on the field.

Picking up new players

If your team needs to pickup players:

- Both captains should agree upon any pickups prior to the game. Pickups must sign a waiver before playing.  Players under 18 need to have a waiver signed by a parent.

Rain - Games are played rain or shine. However, if there is heavy rain the day of a game, games may need to be relocated.  If it has been raining all day, check the website for updates around 4 pm on game day. Our backup fields are Langer Park.  Take Jefferson back down to 4th Street and turn right.  (This park also has bathrooms and a park).

Severe Weather - Games will be cancelled due to severe weather. Check your email or the website by 4pm for updates on game day. If lightning/thunder is observed during a game, please read our Lightning Policy below.

Lightning Policy :

When a flash-to-bang count of 30 seconds is reached, lightning is six miles away. The fields MUST BE CLEARED by all players, regardless of points or time left in a game.

  1. Do not attempt to finish a point in progress.
  2. Players should seek shelter immediately.
  3. Once lightning has moved from the area, play can be resumed after 30 minutes.

Under certain conditions, such as the fields being too muddy or wet, we may need to relocate to Langer Park (requested by Baraboo Parks & Rec.)

Our sponsors are the Grainery, Jose's Mexican Restaurant, and Bekah Kates.

The Grainery is a whole foods and supplements store located at 127 3rd St in downtown Baraboo. The Grainery will be providing a bag and samples to each player in league.

Jose's is a mexican restaurant located on Jefferson & 8th Street. Jose's will be providing a 15% discount on food and beverages each Tuesday night after league.

Bekah Kates is a kitchen, kids, and home store located at 117 3rd St in downtown Baraboo.

Thank you to all our sponsors! :)

Who's running this? Baraboo Ultimate was started in 2010 by Michael and Aimee Lutz. The Lutzes have played many years of ultimate in college, club, and summer league, including Nationals and Worlds tournaments.

In 2015, an organizational board was created to help run the league. Volunteers are always needed and appreciated. All registration fees collected go towards expenses or put back into the league.

As always, we are very excited to be playing another year of Ultimate in Baraboo! :) We hope you will join us!
